On potentially one of the hottest days so far this year, Mixed Netball braved the heat and made their way up to Lakeside courts to take part in the Women's Netball Charity Tournament.
Winning 5 out of 6 matches (who knew men's football were so good at netball? I say they just had the height advantage) we were through to the semi finals.
Notable moments include:
Placed against the freshers team of Women's Netball in the semis, we knew we were in for a tough match. Tired, sunburnt and sweating we slapped on our 5th layer of suncream and downed yet another bottle of water and made our way on to the court.
After a tough match in the 30 degree heat, we ended up just missing out on the finals by losing 4-3. (Though honestly I'm not too sure we minded all that much as all everyone wanted to do was get back and get in a shower at this point.)
Well done to everyone who played and especially for making it to the semi finals!!

We somehow managed to gather a team of volunteers and against all odds we managed to swim the channel today as part of the Swimming and Water Polo Club's Charity Channel Swim! This was for a great cause - we raised money for Headway, they provide UK-wide support and information to improve life after brain injury.
Thanks to everyone who participated and donated, the just giving page is still up for people to donate, any amount is hugely appreciated!
Well done to Charlotte, Hannah, Lee, Todd, Bal, Dale, Lilly, Mark, Wilhelm and Holly!
So it turns out WE CAN PLAY FOOTBALL (sometimes).
Wasting no time getting back into the swing of things, we had our first match of third term on the evening of Friday week 1 - a football match against the women's football team.
For those of us that ate one too many Easter eggs this holiday, this gave us the chance to run around and work them off, before venturing out to neon or back to the library for dat revision. We won 8-1(!!!) in this match, but it seemed we peaked a little too early.
The following week came the Women's football charity tournament. The teams had another dabble and despite losing all the games, managed to pick up some prizes along the way #itsthetakingpartthatcounts
WELL DONE TEAM!
